iF you are so smart, how come you are not rich?

Apropos of the article by Judith Wagner in The New York Times yesterday, and readers comments (bits thereof above) there are so many questions regarding the situation the US is in , particularly now with a presidential election coming up and this article by Judith Wagner, whether this is not something that has been evolving for how long...God only knows, and has come to surface only now?

The problems of the financial criisis that affects the entire world but others as well seem to conjure up to create a picture of concerns almost everyone everywhere....wrongdoing seems to be taking place in the area of health, medicine, research as well ..

What gave birth to these tremendously afflicting problems - the economy and the well being of people, health care being one of the most sought out items.

And all questiions seem to converge to trying and find out the causes.

I believe is the system...a generous system that gives man the possibility of exercising his capacity to the fullest to get the things that will allow him and his family to best enjoy life. The rewards offered by the system are not exempt from a price to be paid.

In the process of getting his job done with a fair reward, he is submitted to the pressure of quotas that must be met and goals attained. A system of incentives and rewards in free and healthy competition with others is the basis of the economic success, both personal and for the country.

The name of the game however is to beat the competition and in so doing, man acquires not only wealth and recognition but a sales pitch that is not devoid of tricks , which quite often lead to skipping and disregarding attendant formalities and go straight into situatiions where the moral limit of free enterprise is obliterated, disregarded and deception and cheating come into play.
Thus the word free losing the words ´´moral limit´´ceases to stand for freedom. because there is no freedom without responsibility

. And this trait of deception is well portrayed in the above quote: If you´re so smart...how come you´re not rich? and others to the same effect...

Greed results wherever there´s the growth, abundance and plenty of money....God created all men equal, so the fact that there are so called winners and losers proves only that there are those who make a living getting a fixed amount of money for the job they do while others have no limit to their incomes because they are professionales and work in specialized areas, or work for themselves, and have access to possibilities that others don´t. The winners are the well educated and sophisticated while the losers, who know full well who and where they are...as we all do

Success thus became asociated with the power that creates money...with material things, costly paintings, things of distinction, etc.

And a form of life quality is created that has little to do with real, good and healthy life quality.....the one which priorizes idle time for peace within, meditating, music listening, book reading, conversation...ideas to enlarge our intellectual horizon.. nature contemplation, sunddowns, quiet seas
or raging seas and the wonder of eyes that watch in amazement ...the kind of life that engenders good will , healthy joy of meeting others ...the kind of life that tells you that now is the time to sit down and listen .

A kind of life where color is associated only with the colors of the rainbow and not with black, white brown or yellow...the color of the skin of so many around the world... there are degrees of white and degrees of black and yellow and of all colors....a black from the USA is not like a black of anywhere else, like one from Senegal, or Kenya, or....

Or the degrees of white....just take a look at norh and south, east and west of the USA or of any other country....In fact, while it is true that all men are basically equal in their needs and in their make-up it is also true that there no two equal faces..no folks with the same eyes , even in the same country or with the same smile or tone of voice... or anything about them. They are TOTALLY different...as different as they in their opinions, in their discourse, in their habits, in their passions and in their greeds. Each one of us is different, UNIQUE.

As I read comments to various themes in the newspapers, I note the kind of incredible good people who speak their minds on various subjects, , ..and reading them , a kind of confidence and hope arises within me, , I read words of good, intelligent people..

Words where is shown that the good prevails even if it seem to be losing ground to the forces of evil...evil that seems to have gradually entered our homes... on the sly..withouit our attention..or perhaps without a good read on our part..or whatever. We discover rather late that what is precious in our lifes must be protected no matter how small and humble our contribtuion to this effect may be. Certainly one way is by raising our voices..let many of them cry out what believe is right and do not acquiese or give up the right and duty to protect what is your obligation to protect and devote your life to, if necessary...
